SilverStar Mountain Resort sits above Vernon, offering a true ski‑in/ski‑out alpine village with four mountain faces and roughly 130 groomed runs served by a modern lift network. In winter it’s one of British Columbia’s larger ski areas, and in summer the trails convert into a lift‑accessed bike and hiking park just minutes from Okanagan lakes and Vineyards Ski Resort.

Things to do in SilverStar
Skiing & Snowboarding
In winter, SilverStar spreads roughly 3,000+ acres across four faces with about 132 marked runs and a lift system of around a dozen chairs and gondola serving terrain from gentle greens to double‑black steeps. The Vance Creek front side delivers long groomers, while the Putnam Creek backside is known for deeper snow and advanced and expert pitches.
Nordic, Biking & Hiking
Nordic skiers can tap into a combined trail network of over 100 km shared between SilverStar and the adjacent Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre, creating one of Canada’s larger cross‑country systems. In summer, the resort runs the Comet Express chair for downhill and cross‑country biking in SilverStar Bike Park and signed alpine hiking routes that start from the village and upper mountain.
Village Dining & Mountain Stops
SilverStar’s colourful mid‑mountain village packs in casual pubs and restaurants like The Red Antler and The Den, along with cafes and shops clustered around the main street. On‑hill, Paradise Camp on the backside offers a mid‑mountain dining stop so you can warm up or refuel without dropping back to the village.
Family & Off‑Slope Activities
Families get more than just skiing here: Tube Town snow tubing, an outdoor skating rink, and marked snowshoe trails sit close to the village, making it easy to mix activities without driving. When the snow melts, mini golf, kid‑friendly hiking, and village events turn SilverStar into a low‑car mountain base for summer holidays.
