Things to do in SilverStar

Wineries & Wine Touring

Kelowna anchors several wine sub‑regions, including West Kelowna on the west side of Okanagan Lake and the Lakeshore/Southeast Kelowna benchlands. Well‑known wineries like Quails’ Gate, Mission Hill Family Estate, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, and CedarCreek Estate Winery sit within short driving distance for tastings, tours, and vineyard dining.

Lake Life & Beaches

In town, City Park’s Hot Sands Beach and Tugboat Bay in Waterfront Park are two of the main public beaches on Okanagan Lake, with sand, swimming areas, and lakefront paths. South of downtown, Boyce‑Gyro Beach and Rotary Beach provide additional family‑friendly access with shallow water, rentals in season, and grassy areas for picnics.

Outdoor Recreation & Views

Southeast of Kelowna, the Myra Canyon section of the Kettle Valley Rail Trail features restored wooden trestle bridges and tunnels popular for walking and cycling in the warmer months. Closer to downtown, Knox Mountain Park offers signed hiking trails and viewpoints overlooking the city and lake, with routes ranging from short lookouts to longer climbs.

Dining, Nightlife & Shopping

Downtown Kelowna’s Bernard Avenue and the nearby waterfront streets concentrate many of the city’s restaurants, cafes, tasting rooms, and bars in a walkable area. For larger shopping centres and big‑box retail, Orchard Park Shopping Centre and the commercial corridor along Harvey Avenue (Highway 97) are the primary hubs.
